"...To write your soul with words" (polyphony in A. Kim’s novel "Squirrel")

Abstract: The dynamics of A. Kim's creative works is under research in the article. Analysis begins with the first book of prose published in 1976 and encompasses the novel Squirrel (1980). The fable nature of the writer's works, their symbolism, the aspiration to conceive philosophical issues through connecting real and mythological entities are outlined and briefly analyzed in the article. The contributor emphasizes the author's paying attention to the awakening of the character's spirit, to the problems of aesthetic choice, common issues of human existence.
