Abstract: The article represents a project of a lesson in the higher forms, which is devoted to the works by A. Bely. The article spotlights the color symbolism in the works by the writer, the peculiarities of its influence on the image of St. Petersburg in the works by the symbolist, and the ways of opening of the main idea of the text through the color. The author suggests bringing of a new aspect of the text analysis into the school syllabus that is the study of the semantics of color and phonosemantics. Image of the city and approaches of its realization through the color gamma of the composition are considered here.
