Abstract: The article is devoted to a problem of studying and effective using in educational process the electronic text — a new phenomenon of modern culture, specificity of which is caused by environment where it exists, the Internet. The subject of this article is the program of a special course «The electronic text: typology and specificity of types», which was created for the 11th subject-oriented philological class, and the course methodical support: questionnaires, competence-based focused tasks, assessment criteria. To master the topics of a special course is deemed by the author to be one way of developing information culture of senior school pupils.
