Abstract: The paper presents a review of the conference reports grouped around several thematic blocks: creative life of the Decembrists in exile, the problem of the feeling of self-guilt and responsibility of voluntary or involuntary emigrants, as well as the authors who found themselves to be “inner emigrants”, the specificity of self-reflection in ego-documents, the myth of Dante’s exile in the Russian literature of the Soviet period’, and the myth creating strategies of the people in the situation of being estranged. Special attention is paid to the several works published in the current issue of the journal.
